Thrive Medical is a small community General Practice in Cairns North.

Our practice offers a welcoming non-judgemental, friendly environment where we can focus on improving your health and that of your family.

We see you as a whole person and aim to optimise your health rather than just treat your illness or injury.

Conveniently located just south of the airport turn-off and directly behind Mother of Good Counsel School, we are well positioned for easy access from all areas of Cairns.

Unfortunately our practice is currently at full capacity. To enable us to continue to provide high quality care to our existing patients we are no longer accepting new patients. The exception to this is immediate family members of current patients.

We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

We are now participating in the Government COVID Vaccination Program.

We are now pleased to offer the Pfizer vaccine to people aged 12years and over.
Bookings can be made for our vaccination clinics online, via the AMS Connect app or by calling the clinic on 07 4019 2960.

All vaccination appointments will be bulkbilled.
If you have had your first dose elsewhere you are welcome to book with us for your second dose.
We are accepting new patients for the purpose of vaccination only.

Please either book a telehealth consultation online or call reception on 4019 2960.

If you have cold and flu symptoms and/or believe you may be at risk of coronavirus (COVID19) please DO NOT come into the practice.

Please either book a telehealth consultation online or call reception on 4019 2960.

I love being a GP. As a GP you get to look after not only an individual, but their entire (often extended) family; you get the opportunity to provide education and empower patients about their health. I consider it a privilege to share a patient's journey through both joyful times and difficult or sorrowful times. I enjoy the challenge of never knowing what is going to come through the door on any day. The added advantage to being a GP is the babies. I love babies and can often be found between consultations sneaking in a cuddle.

I completed my medical degree at the University of Newcastle, Australia and undertook further training as a junior doctor at the Nepean Hospital in Western Sydney. Whilst there I gained experience in a variety of medical and surgical disciplines. In 2018 I moved to Cairns where I began working and studying in the field of General Practice. I have a particular interest in men’s health and also medical education. When not at Thrive I am involved in teaching medical students and junior doctors through James Cook University. Outside work I enjoy cycling and bushwalking with my wife.

I'm still quite new to Cairns, having moved here from Melbourne two years ago and born in Singapore. So far, I am loving life here in the tropics and am hoping to stay here for the long term.
I graduated from the University of Melbourne and am currently completing my general practitioner training.
